Overview of the new rules for the Nations Cup for Division 2

February 06, 2013
The new Nations Cup rules have come into effect from January 1, 2013. Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup ™ Series will be the official name for the next 4 years.

The new edition of the rules of the Nations Cup events was highly anticipated, because it changed the whole system radically. We have studied the  new rules regarding Division 2 in detail and will do our best to give a gist in a few basic theses:

The Second Division includes all European CSIO3*/4* Events and all European CSIO5* Events selected by the FEI and not chosen for Division 1 providing they  meet the following minimum criteria and any additional requirements as  established by the FEI.

Those teams that did not make it (or declined to participate) for Division 1  in the region of Europe are included in Division 2.

Title of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ competition

It is obligatory for Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Competitions to be called: Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™.

Point system:

  1. 1st place = 100 points
  2. 2nd place = 90 points
  3. 3rd place = 82 points
  4. 4th place = 75 points
  5. 5th place = 70 points
  6. 6th place = 66 points
  7. 7th place = 65 points
  8. 8th place = 64 points
  9. 9th place = 60 points
  10. 10th place = 59 points

Teams of the Division can participate in all events, but get points just for 4 or 5 competitions (depending on the total number of the events) for which they made an application in advance. The team doesn’t gain any points during the rest of the events in the frames of the Division.
